While MGMT have been recording the follow up to 2010's Congratulations in Upstate New York, set to be released this summer, the duo also managed to take advantage of Record Store Day with the release of an exclusive cassette featuring the first single from the forthcoming album. "Alien Days" begins with some child like vocals (and vocals from actual children) until the song turns into a spacey, Syd Barrett era slow burner, continuing the weird, psych pop sounds of their sophomore release. Look for MGMT's new album to drop sometime this June.
