Tonight: DIIV

Brooklyn indie rock band DIIV, led by former Beach Fossils guitarist Zachary Cole Smith, released one of 2012's most intriguing albums with their debut Oshin. The reverb heavy, dream-pop aesthetic has become increasingly popular in indie rock in recent years, yet few bands have managed to match the watery, ethereal vibe that DIIV has achieved, combining elements of krautrock and post-punk to create blissful soundscapes from stripped down, minimal sounds. Tonight the band will play the Tralf Music Hall with support from fellow New York band Starred, whose striking single, "No Good," gained them blog attention last year, as well as Montreal's Valleys. Doors will open at 7pm for an 8pm show. Tickets are $15 and will be available at the door. All Ages.
