With Daft Punk's Random Access Memories currently being available to stream on iTunes, the album has had some time to settle in and opinions have been flying. I have seen some people complaining about how "soft rock" the album is, while others have confirmed that yes, the album is Christ's second coming. While I will spare you my detailed opinions on the album, I will say that so far, I really love it. It reminds me of a funkier version of Air's Moon Safari and I am all about that.
Fellow writer Nick Torsell, who will be reviewing the album in full for next week, and myself have both found the Panda Bear collab "Doin' It Right" to be our favorite track. Noah Lennox's vocals give the tune, which can be streamed below, such a human and organic quality that can not be normally found in DP's vocoder use. The song does a great job of creating a weird marriage of pysch and electro rock. Random Access Memories will be released on May 21st.
