The Dodos seem to have the market covered on that harmony filled frantic folk sound, so I was glad to hear that "Confidence," the first single from their upcoming album Carrier, expanded a bit on that. Don't get me wrong, at the half way point, you are reminded that yes, this is a Dodos song, This time around though, the duo seems to have a more fully realized sound with some nice driving electric guitars and a pretty rockin outro. Despite the pretty great No Color, I felt the band was getting dangerously close to making the same album over and over, so I'm looking forward to where what direction they will go on their 4th LP. Carriers will be released on August 27th.
