Brian Chippendale is nuts at drums! Best known for his work with the legendary noise bands Lightning Bolt and Mindflayer (groups set apart from the 'noise' genre because of their exceptional percussionist), as well as having collaborated with Bjork on Volta (though arguably underutilized in the project), the Providence, RI artist is currently touring solo as Black Pus. I've seen Lightning Bolt a handful of times – the band created some of the most confused and fucked up moshpits since The Locust – the rhythm went a million directions at once as the bass/drum combo blasted out mind-crushing walls of noise. As a solo drum/vocal project, Black Pus is just as relentless a sonic force.
