Tonight, Neitzsche's celebrates the sixth iteration of its ongoing tribute to local music legend Mark Freeland. A veteran of so many bands, highlighting them all here would be more tedious than naming the entire Bonnaroo lineup, Freeland was a tireless artist. His creative genius never reached the heights of fame that he deserved, but his impact on the Buffalo music scene is undeniable. For a scene that is (undeservedly) painted as a cover band wasteland, Freeland swam against the stream. Over 10 bands will pay tribute at Nietzsche's tonight, with a cover of only $5, which will go to benefit the Music is Art Foundation.
