If you grew up in the late nineties/early aughts and emo was your soundtrack, I'm willing to bet money you'd like the Menzingers. Think a more punk rock version of the Get-Up Kids or Saves the Day; cooeing choruses, down-stroke riffing, reflective, dramatic rock'n'roll, striding that fine line between gritty punk and the Gins Blossoms. This is catchy music.
Tonight the Menzingers, along with Fake Problems, Captain We're Sinking and Restorations will be playing at Waiting Room (6pm, $13). I hope you go. It's best to start your week with a bang. The Menzingers will lift your spirit. We need that some Tuesdays.
