San Francisco indie rock band The Dodos have already shared the lead single, "Confidence", from their upcoming album Carrier and now have debuted a second track "Substance" which continues the duo's transition back to the sounds that gained them critical acclaim on the 2008 album, Visiter. "Substance" begins with a straightforward, infectious rhythm and builds to an anthemic chorus as frontman Meric Long's refrain of "And you will forget and I will remember" releases the tension that builds and falls throughout the jittery track before winding down with melodic fingerpicking that highlights the band's dynamic ability to seamlessly go from abrasive to blissful to create a powerful sound. Carrier is out August 27th via Polyvinyl
