This morning, I awoke to a new demo in my inbox from Niagara
Falls based Linus’ Yoga Mat aka Peter Rydzewski. “When I’m in the Shade,” follows LYM’s fuzzy
garage lo-fi style, reminiscent of Ty Seagal or an unpolished Wavves. In the
short 1 minute and 46 seconds duration of the song, Rydzewski repeats numerous
times “I don’t want to sleep alone again,” but alternates the second part half
“I just to want to be my only friend” and “I just need you to be my only
friend.” A major conflict; it’s either one or the other, Rydzewski. Regardless,
“When I’m in the Shade” is as catchy as Linus’ Yoga Mat’s previous
releases and I, for one, am looking forward to his new batch of demos.
