Summoning the summer with the southwestern sway of their compact songs, Dirty River Boys perform tonight at the Sportsmen's Tavern (326 Amherst St). Originating in El Paso, TX and currently based out of Austin, the band brings rollicking enthusiasm to the dusty, storytelling-based alt-country they pursue. Supporting their most recent effort, Science of Flight, the Boys are stopping in Buffalo to deliver their tales of frustrated train robbers and medicine show hucksters. Combining bluegrass with rock n'roll, the Dirty River Boys organically conjure the sound of the region they call home. Tickets are only $5 and doors open at 7pm.
