Tonight: Lemuria

Around this time in 2003, I needed a place to live for the summer, and Sheena [Ozzella] said I could take over a corner in her bedroom. It was at this same time that Sheena first picked up a guitar and learned how to play, and every time I came home, she would self consciously stop. Ten years later, her band, Lemuria, is having is celebrating the release of their third LP, The Distance Is So Big, at the Waiting Room (7:00pm, $10). Talking to the drummer Alex Kerns, I learned that this show will be the first time many of these songs are played live. Of course, they will be also performing many of the staples that made them popular over these the last ten years.

Opening the show will be Returners, who have been taking a bit of hiatus to write and record a new material. And lastly, Human Touch will be opening the show, who play a simple but well done set of fastcore punk.
