Tonight: Mosaics

It's an exciting weekend down in the Chippewa entertainment district! After a few false starts, Sky Bar is now open and if the weather holds it should be a nice night for outdoor dancing and drinks. But with respect to the eager and probably aggressive crowd that will show up for some rooftop partying, the place to be tonight is Waiting Room for Mosaics' album release show, which is inside where the chance of being struck by lightning is much smaller.

In case that isn't enough incentive to go, here's some more: Mosaics are a relatively new band and Waiting Room is a venue that is in the process of being broken in, meaning there is tremendous potential for this to be a great night and a great show. I can't completely tell you what to expect, which is a good thing. Fellow blogger Nick Sessanna wrote a great piece on Mosaics earlier in the week, and he made the argument that there hasn't ever been a band in Buffalo that sounds like them. It's a bold statement and it's up for you to decide; tonight just happens to be a great chance to do so.

If that's STILL not enough to get you to check it out, then stay home and read a book or do some laundry because you're lame. But Mosaics will be giving out a free digital download of their EP to everyone in attendance, and since they've only played a handful of shows together - with this one being the biggest to date - you just know they're going to be on point.

Doors open at 9, tickets cost $8. Brother Keep, The Breathing Tree, and Debussi play first.
