If you happen to see a bunch of people wearing their bicycle helmets tonight at Milkie's, its for a good reason. It's Sugar City Soul Night with free admission if you ride over in your bike helmet, which happens to be really odd and funny until you hear the details: this event is near the two year anniversary of "Sugar Citizen" Aimee Buyea's serious bike accident. So the non-asshole thing to do is ride over in your bike helmet and pay the $5 donation to Sugar City anyway.
The warm confines of Milkie's seems like the perfect place for this kind of event; It's going to be one of those special, novel events attended by people who are ready to fully embrace the evening. "Engaging" is probably the best word to predict tonight's atmosphere. Sugar City Soul Night will be the start to a great week, but not just any old great week: A REALLY GREAT WEEK with events like a record swap, comedy night, and a mystery tour. For more information, check out Sugar City.
DJ sets start at 10pm, with music by Handsome Dan, Reverend Johnny Drama, Frankie Rainbows, and DJ Reazon.

Please don't feel like you still have to pay $5 even if you wear a helmet. This is my fun attempt at encouraging bike safety by having a nice incentive as I contemplate how my life has been changed by my bike accident. -Aimee
