The new video from Phoenix for "Trying To Be Cool," their second single off Bankrupt!, is another tour de force from the French dance rockers, and I had no choice but to do a post about it. Directed by CANADA and co produced by the Creator's Project (something to do with Vice magazine?), it features the band doing all sorts of cool shit in a film studio while artistically and rather tastefully burning through the video's budget. There's also some live performance going on here, which is fascinating and pleasantly ambitious considering all of the excellently staged stuff going on. It's a blast, and a nice reminder that the Grove Music Festival that they're headlining - the one we all got excited about because it was happening in Niagara-On-The-Lake August 3 - is actually happening at Fort York in Toronto instead. Oh well. Enjoy.
