Rochester's Dadstache Records Debuts New Songs From Skirts, Faking Amnesia

Since Buffalo seems to be some sort of collective post-Independence Day coma, lets take a look down the I-90 at a couple new tracks from Rochester based label Dadstache Records. The first comes from Skirts. Skirts are no strangers to Buffalo as they appeared recently on the WBNY Local Show, under their former name Meanagers. In fact, their song "Tongue Tied" was one of our favorite tracks to come out of Rochester last year. Despite the new name, the dorm rock act has continued their Ty Segall/Wavves brand of bratty garage rock on the new single, "Mean Girl." Look for the single on the band's forthcoming, self-titled debut.

"Go," the new single from chip tunes act Faking Amnesia, continues the recent hotness that is the chip tunes genre. Between Western NY acts (SBthree) and national (Anamanaguchi), the video game influence genre appears to be more than a fad. I always try to think of which video game a chip tunes song would soundtrack when describing, and as for "Go," its driving beat would seem to work well with Mega Man maybe? "Go" will be featured on Faking Amnesia's upcoming release Second Chance.

You can check out Skirts' "Mean Girl" below, or download both songs for free at Dadstache Records' bandcamp page.
