Tonight: Iration

Tonight, in a major score for the red-hot venue, Waiting Room hosts Hawaiian-bred/California-based, nationally touring reggae band Iration. Fresh off last month's release of their new album, Automatic, Iration returns to Buffalo tonight for the first time since their February '11 show at Mohawk Place. It was difficult to come up with a term for their melodic pop-sounding brand of reggae until I stumbled upon "Sunshine Reggae." If you think of Jack Johnson with a little more pep in his step, less food in his mouth and more instrumental creativity, you will be just fine. There won't be any "jah will be waiting for jah" kinds of lines at tonight's concert, so if laid-back vibes and well-spoken lyrics are something you might be interested in, head on down to Waiting Room because it's going to be a beautiful night.

Doors open at 6. Micah Brown, Fortunate Youth, and Through the Roots complete this packed bill. Tickets are $14 and are available here and at the door.
