Hounds of Hate remind me of the kind of hardcore band you'd see in a skate video in the eighties. Uncompromising, go-for-it, chant-centric, and heavy on the hard. The production value (guitars almost sound like their behind the mix) is a flashback to yesteryear, and I mean that as a total compliment. In terms of dynamics, this is recorded right. And they're not afraid to play solos, either! Glad to see this trend returning to hardcore.
Anyways, they're playing tonight at the Glitterbox at 6pm ($6). Buffalo's own Better X Times is also on the bill, and they crank too. Check it out.
