Disco Infiltrator: December 27th

Jabru - "Like You Care"
British producer Jabru recently released Calling Card Vol. 1, a free EP to close out a year which also included a collaborative EP with fellow UK artist Hackman and an appearance on the first compilation for the new label, Sounds of the Cosmos. Showing off an impressive range that includes tech house, downtempo, bass, and house, the collection is yet another reason to pay attention to the rising producer. The record's standout track, "Like You Care," is a straightforward house cut with a jittery synth line and dense bassline. Download the track below.

Squarehead - "Murdercedes"
Appearing on vinyl-only label Manucci Mistress, this track by Squarehead was recently made available as a free download. The atmospheric house cut features a sample of "Ride The Storm" by Linda Clifford, which is used to create a deep groove carried by hard-hitting percussion and a stomping bassline. Download the track below.

Rufus Gibson - "Ashy Ankles"
DJ/Producer and Buffalo resident Rufus Gibson gave us a new track via his soundcloud page last week. "Ashy Ankles" has an old school house vibe and features a soulful breakdown that slowly reintroduces the track's jacking rhythm and vintage disco vocal sample. With a funky bass groove and punchy kick drum, it's hard to deny the effectiveness of sounds that dance music was built upon which find themselves on full display here in Gibson's latest cut.

Lancelot - "Givin' It Up (Ft. Antony & Cleopatra)
Sydney resident Lance Gurisik makes tracks under the name Lancelot, and is set to release his third EP, Givin' It Up, on deep house label, Anjunadeep. The title track features London duo Antony & Cleopatra on vocals and an infectious groove with layered synths that make for a smooth, soulful vibe. Look for remixes by MK and Isaac Tichauer on the way as well as the physical release January 20th.

Mix of The Week: Hot Since 82 - "Knee Deep in 2013 Mix"
