"Make You Feel My Love" is one of the most oft-covered songs in Bob Dylan's catalog, having been performed by Billy Joel, Garth Brooks, Adele, and Trisha Yearwood, among others. It's easy to understand why. For a songwriter known for being difficult and complex, it's one of his most nakedly beautiful compositions. A simple declaration of love without any reservations.
Shara Worden of My Brightest Diamond understood this when she recorded this sparse, intimate cover of the song. With a piano and her voice acting as the only instruments, Worten displays the song's elegant simplicity. In general, when there's a new version of a song that's been covered so many times (and often by extremely famous singers), it's easy to balk at the idea of yet another rendition out there. However, this version more than justifies its existence by understanding what makes the song great, but not acting as a a carbon copy. The best version of this song since the original, and possibly even better than that.
