New Astronaut Head website + new songs

As if Astronaut Head's new EP wasn't enough, the local musician just released a new website AND a new song. The cleaner, more user friendly website uses the Strange Animals album artwork as its primary theme and includes the new EP for your streaming pleasure. The astrological pop star also released a new song on her tumblr blog titled "Soap Box Baby", proving that a good musician never shuts up. Aside from "Soap Box" there is another song titled "Magic Space Moose" that for whatever reason didn't make the EP. The new tune  has a down tempo, swing-and-sway vibe while the older one has a more colorful autotuned dance beat. Listen  below

Tonight: Astronaut Head EP Release Party

Lo-fi piano pop chanteuse Jesse Stoddard, better known as Astronaut Head, will be celebrating the release of her debut EP, Strange Animals, tonight at the Vault.  Fans of Regina Spektor, Florence & the Machines, and Feist should make the effort to stop by tonight, or else you may not catch Stoddard again for some time as the musician is taking her talents to Edinburgh, Scotland for a couple years.  Those who are not fortunate to purchase the physical copy of Strange Animals, which is hand stitched (the sleeve, not the CD) for that extra touch, may purchase the EP at any time at Astronaut Head's bandcamp page.  Opening for tonight for Stoddard will be upbeat folkster Shawn Roberts, whose "Traveling South" EP will also be available to purchase tonight, and will feature violin and accordion player Julia Norris and Stoddard herself during his set.. Tonight's event is BYOB, like all shows at the Vault, and while there is no cover per say, the suggested donation is $3.  Door's for tonight's show open at 7:30pm, while music begins at 8:00pm.
