Artpark and Lockport Canal Concert Series reveal lineups

Don't ever say there is nothing to do in Buffalo over the summer, especially nothing free.  Less than an hour ago, Artpark announced their summer concert series, with a few of their higher profile ticketed shows are still in the pipeline.  As with years past, each night at Artpark is geared towards a certain demographic.  The Tuesday night series continues its run of trying to get our parents to make the drive to the Lewiston venue.  I supposed Huey Lewis & the News could be fun for nostalgia sake, or for fans of American Pyscho.  The major change to this year's Tuesday night series is there is now a charge.  Most are  $5 adv/$10 day or, but Sublime, Heart, Steve Miller Band, and Sheryl Crow will cost you $5 extra.  Wednesdays nights, all of which are free mind you, feature some blog favs Tokyo Police Club (with the Tins) and the Trews, as well as the unfortunate jam band inclusion, this year being the always insufferable O.A.R..  I am sorry, I just can't listen to them.

If you don't feel like making the trek north, the Lockport Canal Series may be your thing.  Of all of these years of living in Buffalo, I have never once attended one of these Friday night shows and given the lineup, that prob won't change.  This year's stand out appears to be jam kings Gov't Mule, although if you were thinking about checking out Sam Roberts/Grace Potter downtown that same night, you have some choices to make

Check out all of the lineups below and keep an eye out next week as the Buffalo Place Thursday night Concert Series reveals their lineups.  Rumors are floating around that the newly reunited Jesus and Mary Chain may be making an appearance at the harbor this year.  If so, I am so there.
