Stars on 33, a project headed by 90’s electro pioneer Kris Menace along with two of his pals, Lawrence Tompson and Radical Person, is for lack of a better term, DA BOMB. I got a hold of their EP Let The Music Guide You over the weekend, and it’s French-disco grooves have since both seduced and mesmerized me to a point where all I want to do is bump So33/quit my job and stare at my iTunes visualizer until Friday night. Menace is a veteran to the scene, having a hand in the development of notorious electro-dance acts Lifelike and Fred Falke and has even been trusted (commissioned) to re-work some of LCD Soundsystem’s releases. The track “Keep on Dancing” is so out the ying-yang that Aeroplane even picked up the song for his compilation In Flight Entertainment. If that doesn’t impress you, I don’t know what will. If you are into early Phoenix or chill Daft Punk, then you need be listening to Stars on 33.
