Tonight: Into It. Over It.

You could describe Evan Weiss as some sort of "emo royalty," having been a part of several notable bands in the genre (including Buffalo's own now-defunct Damiera). It would be hard to deny his influence on the genre. With Into It. Over It., Weiss has channeled his inner Matt Pryor (of The Get Up Kids fame for you emo noobs) and gone quasi-solo, writing a bunch of charming songs and touring hard behind them.

He's stopping in Buffalo tonight with support from the two bands with the longest names in the genre, The World Is A Beautiful Place & I Am No Longer Afraid To Die and A Great Big Pile of Leaves.  Local support comes from Rochester's Taking MedsTickets are $12, doors are at 7:00pm.

Tonight: Brand New

Well, tonight is the night. It's time for the infamous Brand New show that sold out in, like, 20 minutes. You are probably either apathetic to their existence or ticket-less and sobbing... But for the 1,100 or so people who were lucky enough to snag tickets, you probably already know that tonight they're most likely going to be running through one of the most influential albums of the early 2000s, Deja Entendu. Coincidentally, it's the same scenario from last time they graced the Town Ballroom in 2007, sans Manchester Orchestra. Either way, Buffalo's in for a great show - The World Is A Beautiful Place & I Am No Longer Afraid To Die will be opening. Doors are at 6:30... and yes, it's sold out. You could always check StubHub; I'm sure the jerks selling their tickets for $150 will wuss out and drop the prices soon enough.
