Tonight: Hip Hop Showcase Ft. 25 Metro

In the world of hip-hop it's always been a big deal to rep your neighborhood, but 25 Metro is the first case I can think of a group repping a bus route. These are 2 guys that indeed named  themselves after the 25 Delaware route of the NFTA Metro. You have to think that's where the entire project started, and they probably kicked freestyles right on the curb waiting for the bus. This is a point of emphasis in their music, as well. On "Time", the song begins with a cool effect and the words "25 Metro, Coming straight from the bus stop."

Music wise, these guys take their jazz influence seriously. The beats are smooth and jazz inspired, similar to something you might hear on The Low End Theory. They take their love of all things Buffalo even further, there's mentions of The City of 5 Cents, the 716, and Loganberry to name just a few.

Tonight's show is at Guerrilla Gallery (1109 Elmwood) and also features Hp. Mt. Tickets are $10 at the door and the show starts at 6pm... probably so you can take the metro home afterwards.
