Tonight: Timber Timbre

It may be a cold, dreary night in Buffalo, but the Town Ballroom is offering a great night of music to keep you out of the cold. Montreal trio Timber Timbre brings its dark, retro-infused tunes to the venue tonight for a seated show, supporting the group's latest release, Creep On Creepin' On.

The newest album focuses on space within the music, which should make for an intriguing live performance given the appropriate acoustics. Releasing their first studio album in 2009, Taylor Kirk, Simon Trottier and Mika Posen have been categorized as a blues band, but doing so is selling them short. Whether or not their sound appeals to you, it's clear that this is a group of of fearless experimenters that take influence from wherever they see fit.

Four studio albums later, the group is still pushing the limits of their art house orchestrations and if you don't catch them tonight, you might miss them for awhile since no other shows are currently planned. Doors open tonight at 8 p.m. and tickets are $20.
