Yesterday the jam world found out about the latest piece of Grateful Dead merch, and this one won't be available on any lot. The Dead have been working alongside video game designers to create an online game entitled "The Epic Tour". The game takes place in Grateful Dead time-space, in which some of the Dead's greatest shows are planets that players must visit, while simultaneously collecting money (in the form of "Stealies", or for those uninitiated, the Steal Your Face logo) interacting with other players (and turning on their lovelights), and team up with other players to fight evil forces. Fans / players are allowed to create their own custom avatar-bear, and will be able to customize their tour, depending how much they want to spend (there are packages ranging from $10-$400...sorry no miracles). To boot, the band is compiling their fan favorite shows, and fans can vote on which shows to be included in the game; 10 of which will be considered "epic". The game will be available to play on Jan. 31st, and is previews are available on the website. Check out the preview below narrated by Lakers' legend, and dead-head, Bill Walton.
