UPDATED:
Tonight, Buffalo will NOT be treated to a serious dose of old/new school hip hop when The Hip Hop Gods Tour featuring Public Enemy, Kool Moe Dee, EPMD, Doug E Fresh and Black Sheep plays Shea's Performing Arts Center, the most old school performance space in the city. Please note: when I say "new school" I'm referring to the fact that most of the acts are late 80's hip hop acts, which technically makes them "new school" if we're using the accepted early historical epochs of the genre instead of using the shorthand of lumping everything from the 80's in the "old school." Indeed, accuracy counts here at buffaBLOG. In any case, this was a terrific all star bill loaded with genuine legends (including Black Sheep, whose debut album is profoundly underrated and a sadly forgotten classic), and local favorites Public Enemy are always germane and on point. Always.
The show has been cancelled. That is all.
