Field Day Artist Spotlight: Cobra Krames

COBRA KRAMES

Where Brooklyn at?  If you were lucky enough to catch Sean, known as Cobra Krames, when the Queen City Cartel brought him around last summer to Duke's or this past winter for the Third Annual Saturnalia Festival, you can attest that his set was incredible.  In addition to establishing his own record label, Gold Whistle, he is also under the label Top Billin' and has had his productions featured on Flamin' Hotz, Subdrive and others.  His remixes have been featured in sets from artists such as Diplo, DJ Benzi, and Drop the Lime.  B-more, house, dubstep and NY Club, Krames puts on a fresh set that leaves no wanderlust from the dance floor.

Wonderfully friendly and energetic, he has been appraised by crowds from North America to Europe.  Recently he and DJ A.N.S. released through Gold Whistle and Superchief, a 10 club track project titled Gold Diamonds & Platinum Peals.  Their collaboration with Smurfo and video release for "Bend Your Back" shows not only the talent but the colorful personality of Krames.  Gold Whistle's blog subtitle reads "A MAN OF 10,000 SWAGS!!!" and has photos of his culinary adventures, tunnels masked with graffiti, music releases and frosty nugs.  His original track with Pink Cash, "I Like To," landed him the #1 spot on Beatports Must Hear Hip-Hop Tracks list in March 2012.

Follow Krames on Twitter & Facebook.

If you've been just as obsessed as I have with Diplo's "Express Yourself," then you'll love Krames' remix with Yamez.  It's his own hyped up remix cocktail with a twist of breakbeats.  Turn it up and twerk it.

Cobra Krames will be performing on Saturday May 26th, for Field Day presented by the Queen City Cartel with support from New Era and vitaminwater.  Allen Street will be closed off and Duke's, The Bend, and Sample will be participating in the day-to-night festivities.  There will be six headlining performances with support from over 30 of our local artists.  From 2pm-4am this is most definitely not an event to miss.  Keep up with our coverage, we'll be featuring a spotlight each day per headliner.
