Just a reminder for you lo-fi fiends out there that Guided By Voices will be releasing their new album Class Clown Spots a UFO on June 12. This record is their second as the reunited classic line-up that gave us the fuzzed out, schizophrenic Bee Thousand and Alien Lanes of the nineties. Guessing by last year’s mixed reviews for Let’s Go Eat the Factory, this collection of songs will probably be just as ramshackled with sudden spurts of brilliance, like a rusty engine on its final road trip. For those of you unfamiliar with GBV, I suggest starting with one of the golden oldies before seeing if Class Clown measures up. And for those of you who do try to keep up with GBV (this is their 19^th freakin’ album), looks like we’ll have some fresh feedback for under the summer sun.
