Tonight: Brownman & Gruvasylum

Brownman & Gruvasylum play tonight at Nietzsche’s, starting Buffalo’s Memorial Day weekend with some much needed jazz/hip-hop fusion.  Brownman’s trumpet, often electric, has already traveled the world two times over, leaving him titled by some as the new diplomat in ‘Jazzmatazz.’ What that means to us unaware of the subgenre is that he’s all about the notes of his trumpet being as free formed as the spit of an MC. Brownman has already put on some great shows in Buffalo, so tonight is guaranteed to be even a more fleshed out version of his rapping jazzy ideology. The show tonight is only 7 dollars, which isn’t bad considering how many notes you’ll be getting from his all-star quintet; it is jazz after all, just with more beats, rhymes and excuses to dance. Get there by ten.
