Just Announced: Thee Oh Sees & Ty Segall

In a move that will undoubtedly ensure a non-vacancy of all couches and floors on the night of September 25th, Thee Oh Sees have finally listened to the pleadings of those who have so faithfully traveled every year to see their shows at the Bug Jar, and have chosen Buffalo’s own Town Ballroom as the venue for the WNY stop of their Fall tour. This venue upgrade could also be due to the addition of the excellent Ty Segall to the bill, who has just released Hair, his collaboration with White Fence, and has two more albums slated for release this year. Thee Oh Sees will be touring in support of their newly announced Putrifiers II, the only album they’ll be releasing this year (looks like they’re slowing down). No word yet on if The Intelligence’s Lars Finberg will be back on the drums or who will even be in Ty Segall’s band this time, but it really doesn’t matter. After an unexpectedly solid summer music lineup in Buffalo, this announcement feels like some kind of perverse, decadent indulgence. Like a cake topped with whipped cream and another cake. Doors at 7pm. Tickets are $15.

Listen to Thee Oh Sees’ “Contraption/Soul Desert”, and the watch the absolutely ridiculous video of Ty Segall & White Fence performing “Scissor People” (guitar solo w/ TV included):
