Tonight the quaint and lovely hamlet of Niagara-on-the-Lake will become a magnificent cluster____ of rock awesomeness when The Tragically Hip kick off their multi-day Canada Day festivities with a show at the Commons at Butler's Barrack's featuring Death Cab For Cutie, The New Pornographers, and The Rural Alberta Advantage in support. Indeed, it's going to be an interesting day and evening for the genteel residents of that village that time forgot as 20,000 music lovers (stoned or otherwise) will be descending on it in droves to double it's population and catch this excellent international line-up. The RAA is slated to kick off the day's music at 4:30 with show closers the Hip scheduled for approx 9 PM, and with traffic and parking expected/promised to be a nightmare, concert goers are encouraged to check out the band's event page online for parking and bus information, stock up on patience, and to give themselves ample time to get to the show.
