San Francisco based band Birds & Batteries released the impressive Unfold EP earlier this year to whet the appetites of fans until the release of their next full length, Stray Light, on August 7th.  That album's first single, "Let the Door Swing", strikes a more uplifting tone than the darker songs on Unfold. The accompanying video is a nice bit of psychedelia, proving that strange things will happen in your house if you listen to cassette tapes.  The video was the result of a successful kickstarter campaign the group launched back in March, proving yet again that if you want to create art in these topsy turvy musical times, sometimes you have to hold your hat out to the fans.  Perhaps now the band can chip in and buy these girls an iPod.
