Tonight: Arrested Development

Please note: these are not the Bluth's you're looking for.

In the early 90's it seemed like anything was possible for hip-hop. De La Soul was coming out of the suburbs of Long Island, hardcore kept white parents on edge, A Tribe Called Quest was doing jazz, and out of nowhere from came Arrested Development from Atlanta to conquer the radio and MTV with their eclectic mix of hip-hop, southern fried soul, hyper intelligent lyrics, and Afrocentric vibes and beats. Surveying the current hip-hop scene, I can't say that I don't miss those heady and exciting times. The good news is that those times will be playing the Harbor tonight when Arrested Development brings their 20th anniversary tour to Buffalo. AD is still going strong, and tonight's show ought to be a fine dance party, and an edifying experience in every way. The show starts at 5:30 with local jam rockers Aqueous and Afro/Worldbeat masters Outer Circle Orchestra in support. Hydrate!
