Tonight the Ninth Ward at Babeville hosts a double bill featuring Athens Georgia's own Futurebirds and Glendale California's The Henry Clay People. I can't really say a whole lot about Glendale, but Athens Georgia is a hotbed of American music goodness, especially for indie and alternative music fans, and Futurebird's spacey, laid back, and gorgeous country rock not only serves that city's vast legacy well, it's going to sound great in that wonderful brick basement. Opening support will be The Henry Clay People, who will provide a fine uptempo counterpoint to Futurebird's chilled out psychedelic Americana, and it ought to be a fine way to start a busy week for Buffalo music fans.
Tickets are $12 and doors open at 7.
