We usually preview events the day of, but this one is way too awesome not to give you a little preview. Next Friday evening, make sure you do not miss the inaugural BuffaLoveFest at the Buffalo Zoo! Celebrate everything Buffalo! Sample the goods from local food trucks and breweries, and check out some local artisans and bands! BuffaLoveFest will introduce the BuffaLoveBirds, a band featuring Lance Diamond, Ali Critelli, Eric Crittenden, Vinnie DeRosa, Mike Wagner, & Rob Lynch, some of Buffalo’s all-star musicians, coming together for one exclusive performance. Other notable music acts that will be there include buffaBLOG favorites Andrew J. Reimers CPX, the Jony James Band, the legendary Nelson Starr, The Albrights and The Steam Donkeys. The music alone (and of course the good cause) makes this event one not to be missed. 

 

Are you experienced?  Either way, plan on gaining more at Nietzsche's tonight when The Good Neighborhood presents A Tribute to Jimi Hendrix.  The show will feature some of Buffalo's foremost axe-men (as it should... I mean, we're talking about Jimi Hendrix here, the greatest guitarist who ever graced the face of the earth), as well as, special guests performing with each trio.

As you can discern from the above picture, all Jimi, group jams, no repeats... that means you need to get there at the beginning for fear of missing "Voodoo Chile (Slight Return)" because, well, I'm sure someone is gonna play it.

The show goes to benefit Buffalo Niagara Riverkeeper and if a night of Jimi wasn't enough, raffle tickets will be sold at the show to win a kayak from BFLO Harbor Kayak... which we all know is something Jimi would support; take it from him: "it's so groovy to float around sometimes, even a jellyfish would agree to that".

The show starts at 10pm at Nietzsches (248 Allen St... but c'mon, you know where it is) and there is a $5 cover.

Pocket change to see the guitarists who will be performing tonight, if you ask me.
