If you think of Duke's as a strictly electronic music venue, you should head down there tonight for a healthy dose of Americana by way of Cabinet. The Scranton based six piece's most recent record, LEAP, was recorded in the studio with a live audience. I had no idea I was listening to a live recording until hearing the applause at the end, which is a testament to what a tight live band they are. They'll be joined by the stomping Americana two piece The Evil Things. Tickets are $8 and doors are at 9pm.

Tonight: The Tombstone Hands & The Evil Things
DBGB's will be awash with rockabilly vibes this evening as Rochester's,
The Tombstone Hands bring the summer-ready sounds of surf, twang, and blues up the I-90 and into town.
The Tombstone Hands bring the summer-ready sounds of surf, twang, and blues up the I-90 and into town.
I kept coming across names like "Dick Dale" and "Link Wray" as I read about the sound of The Tombstone Hands and after listening to a few tunes I can say that they definitely merit the comparisons to such legends.
Joining TTH tonight will be Buffalo's own The Evil Things. Take the "-billy" suffix out of Psychobilly and add a "-delic" and you'll be well on your way to understanding what The Evil Things are all about. Loads of Americana spruced up with a healthy dose of fuzzy rock psych is what you get with these Buffalo boys.
Show starts at 10PM this evening.
No price is listed on the event page, but I would assume $5 to be the going rate.
