Tonight: Kid Cudi

If you don’t know by now, Kid Cudi or Scott Ramon Seguro Mescudi has been the smoking young gun that has blasted into the game and has bewildered the ears of many hip-hop purists. Mescudi is originally from Cleveland, which like Buffalo shares the outside stigma of a dying city, but as we (rust-belter’s)  know this can mean a breeding ground for new life and style breaking out of the mold, literally. Cudi at the age of 26 has done just that with his music. By using non traditional hip-hop components such as electric guitar, synthesized melodies, and often singing or speaking instead of rapping, he has by default created a sub-genre. This new sound has been embraced by college age kids and post-graduates across the United States. It is only appropriate that he excels on the college tour; taking over the front of the University at Buffalo’s front plaza near Alumni Arena today rapping about sex, weed, being self-confident, and growing up.
Today’s show is free to All. It is in front of the CFA at the University at Buffalo (in Alumni Arena if raining). Doors at 6:30 followed by a UB football pep-rally!, Kid Cudi will preform with an approximate start of 8:00-8:30.
