Tom Petty has always held a special place in my heart.  He has always been a rebel fighting for the fans of rock n' roll. He was one of the first musicians to fight against exorbitant album cost. When ABC records was sold to MCA Records, Tom Petty refused to be transferred to another label without his consent.  These days he's giving away free digital copies of his newest album to people who purchased a concert ticket. Plus the guy went to high school with my mom. Yup, that his high school photo above, scanned onto my computer straight from the Gainesville High School yearbook of 1968. Ticket prices maybe be expensive (41 dollars for a lawn ticket, eek) but its guaranteed to be a fun show.  Also if you can't see him tonight, Tom returns to Darien Lake on the 28th for another show. 2 Darien lake shows in 2 weeks. I don't think i've seen someone do that before.
