Labbat Blue Pond Hockey

As mentioned in buffaBLOG's guide to the Powder Keg Festival, The Labatt Blue Pond Hockey tournament is back for its fourth year. Each year, eight teams from all over the region, come to Buffalo to compete in some old fashioned pond hockey. This year, the tournament has been expanded to three days, opposed to the two day event in previous years. Event planners have also gone to extreme measures to hold the event on the most weather efficient days. Using historic information to help understand weather patterns, this weekend was chosen as the best weekend to host this amazing event. The games will be played on ten man-made rinks. Teams will be players 21 and over and will be comprised of four on four action and no goalie. The nets will be six inches high and six feet long, making scoring a bit more of a challenge.  If you are heading out to partake in this weekends festivities, make sure to head over to The Erie Basin Marina for some great food, drinks, and of course, some old fashioned pond hockey.

Approximate game times are as follows:
Friday, February 11th: 12:45 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Saturday, February 12th: 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Sunday, February 13th: 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
