Son of the Sun will start off a two night music spectacular tonight at Mohawk for the first of their Love Will Tear Us Apart series. One of the biggest and brightest musical acts in the Buffalo music scene, Son of the Sun have been gaining momentum show after show by doing things their own way. Not many bands out there would have the bravado to schedule a two night, two city rockn'roll extravaganza. Not a lot of bands combine the minimal melodic song structure of classic rock with the modern distorted pedal fuzz of late 90's garage rock either. In fact, Son of the Sun do a lot of things other bands aren't doing, and that's probably why they've become so popular in the last year and half. Also on the bill are the bluesy garage pop of Johnny Nobody and alternative indie rockers Here Come the Comets. Doors open at 8 and cover is 5 bucks.
