Artist Spotlight: Galapaghost

A few weeks ago we stumbled upon a fellow SUNY schools product Casey Chandler, who performs under the name of Galapaghost.  He recently released his third EP, titled Runnin', is made up of hushed folk music featuring harmonies in the vein of Midlake, Simon and Garfunkel, and Neil Young, while performing mainly on the ukulele.  "Rise and Fall" initially sounds like a simple folk song, but subtly evolves as orchestral synths sneak to the fore ground.  The stand out title track begins as a slow burner while building around snare drums and tambourine percussion, and ends with a haunting guitar solo.  Although Chandler has recently left our great state for the greener pastures of the musical hot bed of Austin, Texas, we hope that he will make his way back here soon for a local performance. Check out all of Galapaghost's music at his my space page here.
