The Drum Machine Report

Our senses are completely overloaded. Intelligence is being replaced with competence. How do we free ourselves from the shackles of commonplace mediums each day as Americans, as humans? It is a trap to be effected by all influences. Lest we forget those people who make sacrifices everyday so that we can lead the lives we have chosen. Lest we forget the perils of hubris. Now, let us focus on the big things happening in our small corner of the world! That means you should prepare for the perfect weekend to decompress your soul here in our unique city. And what better way to do so, then to dance your ass off at the fun shindigs that have been organized for just that particular enjoyment? I know no other...

DBGB’S
253 allen st. Buffalo, NY
Frosty Tone reels in a nice catch with DISTAL this Friday. The Atlanta based producer is rising rapidly, and that may because the variance in his production is quite refreshing. Armed with plenty of different beats, DISTAL will affix your feet to the dance floor. I’m worried that someone may fall through the floor. Not. Some of Frosty Tone’s heavy hitters will provide the supporting cast, JAH MC, PERCEPTOR, CMC, SPIDER, BROTHER BEAR, LOKI, and BIG BASHA who will be preforming a brisk set right before the headliner. Taste the weekend, and remember, juke baby juke!

Queen City Cartel and B.A.D.a.s.s. DJs present:
FIASCO

BAYOU
79 w. chippewa st. Buffalo, NY
It was coming sooner or later. From the makers of the FRICTION party the Queen City Cartel, in tandem with National DJ and production coalition, B.A.D.a.s.s. DJs comes a new monthly at BAYOU on Chippewa. It’s a FIASCO! Technically this new monthly event will be held on the last Friday of every month, but the first FIASCO will happen this weekend. Now I know some of you are thinking “Ew, Chippewa” but really it’s pretty harmless. Bayou has a nice atmosphere regularly, and you know when QCC spreads their seed in something it stays pretty, nice. No shortage of talent to kick off these parties either with the lineup of: SUNGLASSES MIKE(Bayou resident) & the OWSKI, MEDISON, RYAN LIDDELL & 3PO, and DVS. So if you feel like a loss of inhibitions on Friday night, this is for you. Safety first.

AWAKEN

$5/18+
COSMOPOLITAN ART GALLERY
413 genesee st. Buffalo, NY
Brining back the house! What happened? We kinda let the strictly house nights go by the way side. That is of course, not entirely true, but they have certainly seemed fewer and far between. Well that’s ok, because now that underground vibe will return every month at AWAKEN being held on Friday at the Cosmopolitan Art Gallery. Now if you’re familiar with TDMReport you’re already hip to this hidden gem of a venue. If not, it is just a shot East on Genesee st. before you come upon the eerie gallery in an unsuspecting Buffalo ruin. It’s fucking cool. If you want to shine away from the spotlight I suggest you take this plunge. DJs include: KYLE MOODY:MEDISON:EMJAY BIGGS:DISKO:PAUL KUENZI

Want a great way to feel good about going out and blowing all your money on booze? Well how about a night where the cover charge is donated to the Buffalo Animal shelter! In all seriousness, DR SEB has organized another ANIMAL HOUSE night to support the efforts of the Buffalo Animal shelter by donating the proceeds. Thank you to the DJs who are offering their talents for this good cause, including: ANDREW HALLER:SNAX:LADY ATRAM:SUNGLASSES MIKE:MEDISON:DR SEB.

Buffalo Drum and Bass presents:
SUMMER BASS SESSIONS VOL. 1
9p-4a
$2/18+
CLUB W
199 delaware ave. Buffalo, NY
New session spot for Drum and Bass. I’ve heard that Buffalo DnB has got Club W primed and ready to invade some space with bass. The first of these summer sessions will feature AFK the Alfa Flight Krew, a Drum and Bass duo that will make the short trip over the Peace Bridge from Fort Erie, CA. Classic style DnB and Jungle along with some Dubstep and Drumstep will be the primary focus of these events, and each week will feature support from local DJs, producers, and MCs. Lap it up with your spoon is what I say, because that Bass is some good eats.

Decisons, decisions. The conflicts this weekend will present difficult choices for some of you. Don't be afraid to Spring around spritely from spot to spot. Just be sure to do so safely if you intend to drive. I want to leave you with a Nadastrom Moombahton Remix of the WIN WIN song "Releasermp" in honor of them opening for The Death Set at Soundlab tonight!

Much Love
~jw
