June is bustin' out all over! The ocean is full of Jacks and Jills. With her little tail a-swishin’ every lady fish is wishin' that a male would come and grab her by the gills! Take control of your Summer and reel in some fun.
With DEMF and Starscape now in the rearview mirror, Camp Bisco and Dance Here Now right around the corner its clear that Dance and Electronica festivals are where to see the hottest in dance music this Summer. Word out of Starscape is that the the main stage was strait “dubstep,” and that the highlight of the night was Bassnectar? I find that a little hard to believe with the likes of Doctor P, Borgore, and Datsik sharing the stage. I suppose that the trend of Skrillex and Bassnectar only means that people must want what they can lap up easily. Which in my opinion is perfectly fine for that kind of electronic music which is more and more renaming itself NOT dubstep. It may come out of the same place, but being compartmentalized and more readily dosed for the masses, it has now become a completely different animal. Fine, because it’s good to find the balance between being a music snob, finicky about production, standing in the back, full of commentary and and other times you just don’t care what is playing and have the need to get down. Find that balance.

ABOVE & BEYOND GROUP THERAPY WORLD TOUR

5p-11p
$20/18+
SUNSET BAY BEACH CLUB
1028 south shore dr. Irving, NY
This event has been moved from PURE nightclub in the heart of downtown Buffalo to the SUNSET BAY BEACH CLUB in Irving, NY. The show will begin at 5 rather than the scheduled 10 to maximize the daylight hours on the newly remodeled patio of the famous beach club. The club closed for the season early last year on labor day to begin the new renovations which will be on display for the first time as the club re-opens this weekend! Special note for those over 18 but under the legal drinking age who have tickets or are planning to attend the show. If the show has to move inside of the beach club, you are screwed because only 21 and over are admitted, so be cautioned when purchasing tickets, or just show up, the weather is supposed to be pleasant anyways. ABOVE & BEYOND is a Trance music group based out of the UK who are renowned for their production of progressive and catholic trance. In the same ilk as Tiesto, Ferry Corsten, Gareth Emery, if you like trance then you get the idea. Personally I would enjoy this type of dance music under the setting sun rather than under the flashing lights. But that’s like my opinion, man. Also appearing will be JAYTECH and local support from: JESSE AARON:MEDISON:ANGELO PETRUCCI.

Lastly do not forget that on Thursday 6/16/2011, BuffaBLOG and Queen City Cartel are taking you OVERBOARD. That’s right our very own booze cruise and dance party on the deck of the Miss Buffalo II. This event will be amazing! Get your tickets HERE, and get them soon so you do not get left ashore with the other losers. Remember, winners are everywhere.
Much Love
