Could Buffalo have it's own The Wall or American Idiot on its hands? While The Who may have begun the rock opera/musical with their 1969 album Tommy, artists like David Bowie, The Kinks, Pink Floyd, and most recently Green Day have dabled into the thematic, storylined albums over the years, many of whom took their work to the stage. Rock operas seem to range from ambitious to prentious to down right dangerous(I believe another actor from Spiderman: Don't Turn Out The Lights was hurt as I typed this), but we have high hopes for Fall: The Rock Musical, which was written and directed by Niagara Falls native Bill Horn. The story focuses around civil unrest and corruption in during a South American Revolution, all while backed by guitar heavy rock music. The soundtrack to the musical, which features recordings of the cast, can be found at Fuse Bomb Records. Those attending the show should keep an eye out for our friend Greg Burt of the WBNY Local Show as he helps patrons find their seats. Fall: The Rock Musical will run this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, in addition to next weekend, at the Ninagara Arts & Cultural Center's Woodbox Theatre. All shows begin at 7:30 and tickets are only $10.
