Shark Sandwich? Illegal Alien vs. Child Predator? No, these are not the names of B-movies but hilarious song titles from Buffalo's own surf-style punk rockers, Mayday! Warning; This could become your new favorite local band. The tunes are catchy in a surfy-Agent Orange kind of way...high energy bombast with raucous female vocals. The bands been getting some much deserved recognition lately for their exciting live shows and I can say they definitely bring it in that department. I saw them at last year's Buffalo Decency Rally and thought they were one of the best bands there. Also on the bill is Vile Crocodile, scathing Buffalo hardcore, and Pahaaverta and Ydinperhe, Finish bands of the thrash variety. Recently added is Deafhheavens, an interesting band from San Francisco that combines the melodic majesty of groups such as Explosions in the Sky with crushing black metal. This should be a great show with a unique mix of solid bands. Show starts at 6pm. $6 at the door. Sugar City.
