Today, I feel honored to have the ability to have Love Scenes as our Album of the Week. This little beauty has been out for quite some time now and still is heavy in my music listening rotation. The duo of Leah Loefke and TJ Grace, have made an enormous splash in Buffalo's music scene just with their live performances, but now a full length album, and some awesome cover art(done by our very own Katie) has sky rocketed them to the top of the Buffalo music scene. The album is entitled Classy Excuse for a Trashy Experience, and it is exactly that. The album begins with a haunting "Insomnia," which if anyone has experienced even the slightest bit of insomnia, this song is your anthem. Next up is "Layers," this track could be their most complete tune on the album, the combination of TJ's synth and the effects on Leah's vocals makes the hair on my arm stand on end. "Layers," has become my favorite track and has been the background music to quite a few events in my life. "Heavy," which was probably the first Love Scenes song I heard and loved, finally gets a studio recording and it is everything I had hoped it would be.
"Apathy," is quickly rising my favorite song chart, and might be the one that could take over number one. Again, Leah's incredible voice and TJ's melodic loops are the perfect recipe for your very own dance party in your head. "Try," has my favorite lyrics on the album and is perfectly placed near the end of the cd. "You can try if you want to," is an excellent lyric and truly speaks to people living their lives by not doing anything to change the way things are. The listener ends its journey of this beautiful album with "Precious Little Heart" and is sent sprinting to their listening device to restart the cd. "Precious Little Heart," is absolutely gorgeous and is definite live favorite. If you have not already listened to this album twenty times, you can download it right here, it is a name your own price, but that doesn't mean you can't shell out a few bucks for it. If not, the band appreciates you listening to it anyways.
