So here we are, the first Saturday of the Infringement Festival. To experience everything there is to see today, you would have to be fifty places at once, and well that is just not possible. The whole shebang starts off at noon and runs late in to the evening. Below I will attempt to give you a run down of whats going on today.
Merge Restaurant:
For Saturdays Infringement Festival, Merge will be having their Infringement Circus. Kicking things off at noon will the Blue Roadhouse Family Band, delivering some good ol' family acoustic blues. At 6:45pm The BloodThirsty Vegans take the stage(appearing at our rooftop party) and will be expressing their message of unity through hip hop and dance. Along side the vegans are the Apogee Dance Art group, with their eclectic style of dance. Finishing off the night at Merge is Projex, who brings both an audio and visual element to his DJ set and takes the viewer on a journey through multiple different kinds of electronic music.
Vault:
At 1:00pm, get over to The Vault and check out 4D art, a mixture of music and sight to take their listeners to a whole new dimension.
Wasteland Studios: If 4D art is not for you then head over to Wasteland studios for Bill Times a Billion at 1:00pm. A boy girl pop duo(also appearing at our rooftop party,) of drums, vocals, guitar and the occasional trumpet! |
| Filigrees: |
| At 7:00pm, Filigrees will hosting their art night. The Creepshow artists will be creating their underground art. There will also be a collage workshop, make sure to bring your own magazine clippings as well as bizarre and amazing pottery mixed with poetry. |
DBGB's:
| Sadly, at 11:00pm, local favorites Chasing Static will be playing their last show for a while, so make sure to get out to DBGB's and bid them farewell. |
Nietzsche's:
Rounding out the night, make sure to be at Nietzsche's at 1:00am for our very own Luke Hammill's band, AUTOPUNCH. Band members describe their music as "out-rage-a-funk," they were nominated for 2011 best band in Buffalo, and were a featured act at the music is arts festival. Well, thats that. Hopefully this mini guide will help you experience some new things you have not opened yourself to in the past. The mix of arts, visual, and sound aspects this festival brings, really encompasses what Buffalo truly is and continues to flourish as an arts community. |
