Our pay what you like friends over at Steak & Cake Records will be throwing their Bidwell Indie 5000 Festival sometime in late August over at Bidwell Park in the Elmwood Village. While the up and coming label has done it's share of fundraising so far, they are still in need of some more funds. This is week is as good of a time as any to help contribute to the little festival that could. Currently on the Steak & Cake website, they are offering their latest release from NYBRKFST. While the S&C normally gives you the option to pay as much or as little (or nothing for that matter) as you like for their releases, this time around, a price of $5 is all you need to pay to get the Juggernaut EP. In addition to the three song EP, your gracious donation will also get official album art/lyrics/liner notes, music videos, and a poster.
Also, this Sunday, Steak & Cake founder Brandon Schlia will be hosting a Backyard BBQ Acoustic Show to further his fundraising efforts. For only $3, you can enjoy the live stylings of Steak & Cake roster members Becca Ryskalczyk, Katie Preston, Damian Weber, and Schlia himself, in addition to food and drinks, although a good guest always abides BYOB rule. That's a good deal in my book. The Backyard BBQ show will take place at 410 Potomac Ave beginning at 2:00pm this Sunday, June 24th.
