The Ellicottville Jazz and Blues Weekend kicks off today and will continue throughout the weekend. The event was formerly known as the Ellicottville Jazz Festival, but more blues acts were procured this year in an effort to broaden the weekend's appeal. Some of the area's more talented musicians will be featured on an outdoor main stage, in the town's numerous bars and restaurants, and even on the street. Headliners include the Matt Felske Quartet, the Jim Tudini Band, and Steve Swanson's Bluzeinn. Any excuse to get out to Ellicottville for some fresh air and fresh beer is a good one, and if it involves music, it's a better one.
